The Efficient Forms TOP Platform — New Release

Friday, April 25th, 2008

I will normally not use this blog to directly tout Efficient Forms TOP (Transaction Origination Platform), at least not without first trying to make the shameless promotion a bit disguised in a political or pressing issue of the day (as in pretty much the last 4 articles).

But this post is simply a shameless plug… for good reason though!

New Release

Earlier this week I was excited to see the new release of our TOP solution roll into live customer sites without a hitch and on schedule. Both without a hitch and on schedule are about as rare for small or a large software companyies as a no-hitter is in baseball.

Even though the enormous amount of new features will not be realized by all our customers immediately, all will be impressed with the new looks, simpler workflow and new help functionality which will be hard to miss. Under the covers is where a lot of the cool features to TOP reside.

This new release has dramatically enhanced a domain expert’s (or business analyst’s) ability to configure and customize vocabulary, actions and workflow for their TOP powered CEVA (Content Enabled Vertical Application). For me the new release gives Efficient Forms’ TOP even more flexibility and capabilities as Efficient Forms continues to launch TOP CEVAs into more and more diverse industries, solving and automating difficult transaction origination and collaboration issues for corporations, government entities, and entire industries.

TOP’s ability to smoothly hand-off a completed transaction or event to service provider’s ECM (Enterprise Content Management) of choice is also an exciting capability the TOP powered CEVA offering brings to our customers and the ECM industry. TOP gives ECM players (like IBM, EMC, Xerox, Oracle and others) an impressive efficient alternative to high paid professional services custom developers, as their customers continue to demand more and more CEVAs specific to their needs.

Yes, I could go on and on but I won’t. If you want to learn more about TOP check out our web site and or give us a call. That’s it — I am done with the shameless plug without a disguise (for now…).

College Applications

Sunday, April 20th, 2008

Wow! It seems that those first few articles were a bit heavy. So I will back off on trying to solve all the world’s problems with the Efficient Forms Transaction Origination Platform.

Ahhh, mid April … taxes are paid. Spring is in the air. Tulips are blooming. Seniors are receiving college rejection letters. Yes, all is well … hold it one minute! What’s this rejection letter thing? All is not well.

For many of us who have long ago forgotten applying to college and choose to only remember the excessive social experiences of our college years, it’s hard to understand the heightened anxiety high school seniors face as they open rejection letter after rejection letter from their favorite colleges. Luckily, most of them have applied to six to 10 schools, and most will receive a coveted acceptance letter. They shout, “Finally!!”

In one very brief instance, their emotion quickly shifts from complete hopelessness to complete relief and then to complete cockiness. They quickly call their friends who haven’t yet received an acceptance letter, and the conversation will go something like this:

Accepted Student (AS): “Hey”

Not yet Accepted Student (NYAS): “ssssup”

AS: “Not much”

NYAS: “m’either”

AS: “Oh have I told you I have finally decided to go to Blanky Blank U next year?”

NYAS: “oh”

AS: “Yes, BBU was my first choice, but I thought I would consider all my options”

AS: “I’m sure you’ll get in somewhere, but I heard that all the acceptance letters were sent several weeks ago …”

Ahhh, the daily ritual of high school, humiliate your friends before they humiliate you!

It’s hardly a laughing matter, with rejection letters at an all time high again this year, and nearly every major media outlet has picked up these headlines, which really doesn’t help. The higher rejections are understandable, what with the biggest graduating senior class in U.S. history and the largest percent of them wanting to attend a four-year institution. Not to mention, the global competition for a position in at a U.S. university. But none of this helps, does it?

So for this generation of college applicants who feel like they were born at the wrong time, we are dedicated to helping ease the pain. CollegeZapps is powered by the Efficient Forms Transaction Origination Platform, and it is a fast and easy way for students to apply to college.

But for now, enjoy the spring. As fall grows near and the thought of college apps comes back around, I’ll post more information on CollegeZapps.
